Paralleldevs is looking for a Mid UX/UI Designer to be part of a development team that builds apps and websites, using open source technologies; such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Drupal, Wordpress, amongst others.

Digital Products creates value for our clients, their employees, and their customers. We design and build software that changes the way people work and live. Therefore we are looking for a UX/UI Designer to produce meticulous, beautiful designs that take into account our client brand guidelines and specifications (websites, mobile applications, email, etc.)  The ideal candidate must be able to design, develop, or enhance existing graphic/identity branding that meets marketing objectives, integrates customer usability best practices, and address client brand standards. Should be inspired by innovative web and mobile design and follow the latest design trends.
 
This position works closely with Developers, Project Managers, and external client leads. The UX/UI Designer must be customer-service oriented and work well independently as well as in a team environment.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Produce and present UX deliverables with limited oversight including sitemaps, wireframes, prototypes, experience strategy documentation, process flows, user flows, interaction prototypes, user personas, customer journeys, site maps, and other design specification materials
  • Produce meticulous, beautiful user interface designs that take into account client brand guidelines and specifications (websites, mobile applications, email, etc.)
  • Participate in discovery activities such as design workshops, stakeholder interviews, accessibility audits, expert reviews, competitive reviews, etc.
  • Assist in user research activities such as user testing, persona development, and user journeys.
  • Create high-fidelity mood boards, style tiles, compositions, and digital style guides
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to create innovative, best-in-class, customer-centric solutions
  • Stay informed of UX best practices, trends, tools, and participate in the local UX community
  • Contribute to our culture and atmosphere, quality of work, and growth

  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented

  • Ability to conduct heuristic and functional reviews of other digital experiences
  • Collaborate effectively with remote and onsite team members, including but not limited to designers, researchers, project/product managers, QA, developers, and technical architects
  • Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually
  • Help shape opportunities including estimating, scoping, resourcing and RFP


Requirements


Basic knowledge, skills and experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field in Information Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience delivering interface design solutions for various clients, including highly detailed annotated wireframes and user flows within complex web or mobile applications
  • Ability to take initiative and proactively offer suggestions and resolutions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt if needed

Required Knowledge, skills and expertise
  • Familiarity with UX design prototyping tools, like Sketch, Invision, Adobe Suite, Figma.
  • Impeccable understanding of typography, layout, color, and all other elements of design
  • Experience working in an Agile environment..
  • Above average experience with responsive web design techniques
  • Experience designing around data sets and reusable components/patterns
  • You’re experienced with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with external clients and their customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management and user research.
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, and teamwork skills
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of current creative media, mediums and trends.

Valued Knowledge, skills and expertise
  • Master of Sketch, Zeplin, and the Creative Suite
  • Comfortable designing within iOS and Android native, Web Responsive, and additional platform guidelines using Sketch, Axure, the Creative Suite, and other relative design tools
  • Experience in designing demand generating creative, including digital banner ads, email, direct mail, infographics, forms/landing pages.
  •  Willingness for reasonable business travel to work with onsite teams and clients 

English Language Skills

Minimum English level desired is B2-C1* based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF or CEFR).
